An Indian Wedding | Walton, Oregon
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know I’m still out there doing sessions & capturing weddings! I don’t write about every session I do, but I wanted to share the most recent wedding I shot because it was my first Indian wedding!
I was so excited when I talked with Marco & Simran about what was going to happen on the day. I love learning about different cultures & seeing their marriage rituals. It is truly eye-opening & I feel honored every time I get to be there to witness two people getting married, whatever that looks like for them!
Being a married person, I understand having to compromise with what you want for your wedding. Whether it be the type of ceremony, the colors, the attire, etc. These two amazing people come from very different backgrounds & wanted to honor each other’s marriage traditions (which I love), so they decided to have two different ceremonies! I was only there to capture the one day, but Simran told me that the whole shindig was going to be about 4 days long! You better believe I was Googling whatever I could about Indian weddings & what they do lol. Everyone was staying at Camp Lane in Walton, Oregon, near Eugene. It’s a sprawling campground surrounded by enormous trees, abundant ferns, & enough beds that they invited everyone to stay overnight!
I am so glad they chose me to be their photographer. I’m also glad that my daughter got to be there to experience it with me & open her eyes to different cultures & ways of doing things, I know this was a learning experience for both of us! This is a wedding I will not forget!
Thank you so much Marco & Simran for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day!
Let’s all say a big congratulations to them & wish them all the best in their life together!
