A Special Father’s Day Newborn Session | Salem, Oregon
Hey there!
I just wanted to share a few photos of my newest baby friend Kai. His mama is one of my friend’s (you’ll probably recognize her) & I have been taking her photos for a few years now! Even his big sister Aliya’s Fresh-48 on Christmas day & pre-school photos!
I love being able to photograph families over the years, watching them grow & change & their family is no exception.
Newborn session are some of my favorites because I freaking LOVE babies! I love being able to document all their tiny little fingers & toes & ears & little chubby fat folds & wittle wips, cause they’re just so freaking squishy & adorable!
I mean, just look at him! How could you not go, “awwwww!”?!
Am I right?!
In my mind when I wrote the title I was thinking..uhh, well, EVERY newborn session is special, actually, every SESSION is, but the point I’m trying to make is that THIS newborn session was specially personalized to be a gift for Father’s Day for sweet, little Kai’s dad.
Obviously, I always get photos of the babes all wrapped up, wearing cute little bonnets or in baskets & what not, but this time Mama Diana brought some special props!
But before we get to the special props to personalize this Father’s Day Newborn session, we have to ooh & ahh at some other shots of this sweet little man!
Oh yeah, & if you couldn’t tell, I’m a sucker for those black & white shots. I don’t know what it is that just makes them feel timeless & calm.
You guys, I am being so serious right now. Look at his ear. Isn’t it the cutest thing ever?!
Don’t disagree with me here, both him & his sister have some pretty fricken’ cute ears.
Oh, & that little sign, what better way to tell the world that you have finally arrived?!

YUP that’s a pizza blanket!
& seriously one of the softest blankets ever.
I seriously hopes this kid takes this thing everywhere, just to get that double-take from people, like, “was that kid carrying a pizza…blanket..?”
Lol, it would be so great.
Can we all pause & appreciate his Zoolander lips right here? Also, he kind of smiled…that counts right? Even if it was actually him passing gas..?
Alrighty then, wasn’t that fun?!
Since this shoot was specifically for a Father’s day gift, let’s just all say a nice warm Happy Father’s Day to Eric Salter, dad to this sweet little TMNT-pizza-loving boy, & to all the other dads out there while we’re at it!
Like I said before, every session is special & personalized to what YOU want.
